About

TOPickleballClub started with a handful of friends and a weekly game. It grew because people kept bringing friends, and then strangers, and then stayed to hang out after.

Toronto can be a genuinely hard city to meet people in. You can live here for years and still feel like most nights end the same way, with the same few friends or none at all. That's the quieter thing we kept noticing, and what we've been trying to chip away at through pickleball.

Pickleball happens to be a good vehicle for it. It's easy to learn in ten minutes, you rotate partners every few games, and nobody takes themselves too seriously. You don't need a group, a skill level, or a plan. Most people come alone the first time, and by the end of the night they're usually hanging out with people they've just met.

Our events are built around that flow: play first, then something social after, whether that's dinner, drinks, or just sticking around to keep talking. That's usually where the friendships actually get made. We keep the tone warm and unintimidating, and we pay attention to the small things that make a space feel good to walk into on your own.

We've been selling out every event, and the people who come back tell us they're here as much for the hang as the sport. If Toronto has felt a little lonely lately, come try one.
